Have you every trimmed stems and used them in flower arrangements? These shrubs are so robust they can easily spare a few stems for the house.
My top tip is give it a good chop once its flowered because it is quiet a vigorous shrub. Also grow it in a mixed border so there are a succession of shrubs to follow.
There seam to be a lot of varieties about. All look quiet similar. Lots in the species xintermedia. The large majority can be kept comfortably at 1.5 m to 2 m. I think it looks great when cut into a hedge.
