| Perovskia 'Blue Spire' |
I absolutely love these spires of blue echoing through a border. If you can give it a well drained sunny position you are on to a winner.
You can see from the red penstemon canvas behind how a garden is a about layers of colour. How the perovskia or Russian Sage shines twice as brightly when making such a wonderful contrast to the red.
This perennial has an Award of Garden Merit. It flowers from August through into September and can reach about 1m tall. I tend to think of it as a mid border plant to be grown in a large clump or drift.
