Verbena Bonariensis

 

Flowering from July, Verbena bonariensis is probably the most popular perennial on the nursery  with its clouds of hazy purple on tall stems up to about 1.5m. This perfect eye level rich colour standing above the border is somewhat unique.

If you want to echo the colour through the border, have you seen the dwarf cultivar Lollipop usually about 60cm or Verbena rigida a similar size but slightly deeper purple. This also has an Award of Garden Merit.
