Stunning blooms and coming out in flower now this May. These are beautiful big peony flowers that we love but on a shrub not the herbaceous form.

These are suffruticosa varieties.
You need a sunny spot or some dappled shade will do but not dark shade. They need sun to form flowers. Keep them out of the wind. Mulch them up to keep the moisture in but they don’t want to be soggy. They don’t need lots of fuss just trim off the flower heads to tidy them up when flowering is finished. If you want to have the seed heads this can be done in the autumn.
