British Grown Ornamental House Plants

Let us introduce you to our British grown ornamental pot plants. We a have a large range and most of them are evergreen and require minimal care. Many of these plants are very versatile and known to help purify the air within our homes and offices.

If you are looking for something leafy green but simple to look after requiring only indirect light, try a Calathera or Prayer Plant. Large lush shiny round leaves.

Aglaonema
known as Chinese Evergreen is another large leafy house plant that copes well with indirect light. This has some striking foliage.

Sanseviria

Sanseviria a family probably most associated with Mother in-laws Tongue.
Many have long tall sword like evergreen leaves. It often brings height but not width.

Dieftenbacbia the Leopard Lilly is another that is happy in indirect light. Camilla has bright variegated foliage so it could lift a dark corner.

Dracaena grow long and vertically with long leaves. I love the translation it means female dragon! Some of the varieties we have are quite bright and they do need light.

Ficus elastica

It’s a Rubber Plant. This is an easy house plant un-fussy. It will sit in sun, partial shade, or indirect light.

Philodendron 'Prince of Orange'

Philodendron commonly known as a Love Tree. Again, a really versatile low maintenance plant that will grow in bright but indirect light. Some direct light is needed to keep the leaf colour. Some of the philodendron can be grown quite tall and tree like other more like a colourful rubber plant. Like most plant genuses there is a lot of variety within it.

Something a little bit different:

Mini Monstera

Everyone recognises the Swiss Cheese plant. This large leafy monster plant must be one of the most popular plants for the home, but have you seen the miniature version.

Yucca elephantipes

Caladium 'Fast Flash'

Caladium

These are a simply stunning plant family. Commonly know as the ‘Heart of Jesus’ probably for the outstanding colour when they are in leaf. They may require a little more care but the leaves are incredible. These like bright and indirect light. Keep continuously moist, liquid feed every watering. They are big feeders. Mist occasionally and stand plant on a layer of pebbles, if possible, to encourage humidity.
