Planting Autumn Winter Pots

Here are the ingredients for my autumn winter pots.

I've chosen a teracotta Yorkshire Flower Pot and I am filling it with the RHS endorsed Melcourt compost.
In each pot I have chosen 3 winter hardy plants that tone well together. One tends to stick up, one tends to flop and another fluffs out in layman’s terms!

Hypericum ‘Miracle Attraction’, Heucherella ‘Redstone Falls’, Carex ‘testacea’

Euonymus fortune ‘Silver Carpet’, Nandina domestica ‘Blush Pink’,Heucherella ‘Redstone Falls’. The nandina will turn a much richer red this autumn and the coppery heuchella will trail.

Heucherella ‘Tapestry’, Carex morrowii ‘ Ice Dance’, Corokia xvirgata ‘Frosted Chocolate’. I love the textures in this pot. The heucella has the contrasting dark marking in the leaf and the corokia has a great twisted gnarled shape.

Polystichum setiferum, Heucherella ‘Yellowstone Falls’, Euphorbia Ascot Rainbow’. All limey green colours in a variety of textures.

Helleborus xericsmithii ‘Winter Moonbeam’, Euonymus ‘Harlequin’, Heuchera ‘Black Pearl’.Dark red is a classy stiking contrast against silver and the marbling on the hellebore foliage works between the bright silver and deep plumb.
