Sarcococca Confusa is a small leafed glossy green hardy evergreen with sweet scented small stringy flowers in winter often at Christmas or just after hence the common name Christmas Box.
It is in the Buxacae family. The white blossom is followed by black little berries. Smaller varieties are available but this one can grow to 2m. It is very easy to keep trimmed into a small hedge.
Although the plane green small leaves can be quiet inconspicuous though out the year for the really lovely fragrance and winter evergreen I think its well worth slipping into any border. I have one by my front door.
