Update Sunday 5th April

The nursery is not taking orders today we are closed as we need to water the plants sort out the chaos and again catch up on orders. I believe we are working on Thursdays orders so don't worry if you have just contacted us we will get to you.I can see another stack of order related emails in my inbox alone waiting for responses. We will resume tomorrow. Please use email. shop@thenurseries.com.

What we are doing now is very different to having lovely customers come to the nursery. It involves lots of bits of paper and phone calls to sort out. As time goes on we are becoming more accustomed to taking orders and delivering. The tiny team we have has been absolutely amazing. We have made a few mistakes and forgotten a few things.Which can all be sorted out. Having your order or an idea of what you want  as we are not an online store, put on an email with address and phone number is invaluable. We call you when we can start pulling it together and because all our local customers are at home and everyone wants to get gardening more than anything we have been a bit overwhelmed.

I have been attempting to list as much stock as possible on my gardening blog under the label All Available Lists. Here you will find a tiny amount of our stock. I have just this minute added a list of looking good cottage garden perennials to the large evergreen shrubs, compost, herbs, trees, fruit and bird feed.

Towards the end of the week we began sending 3 vans out.Oak will be replacing the radiator in our old van today.

Orders really need to be £20 minimum to justify driving long distances round the countryside. We can not drive miles to drop off one packet of seeds!

Group orders are extremely helpful and where villages have worked together to coordinate one van delivery we have been able to  drop off at a designated point allowing resident to collect contactlessly at designated times however large or small order.

We are not an online or mail order nursery. We don't want to be. This operation is temporary to help our regular local customers who have always shown us such loyalty. When the crisis is over we hope to be still standing and able to go back to being your everyday local nursery.
