Coronilla glauca Citrina Is In The Pea Family

Have you noticed this has been in flower since November and its still blooming.
This was twinkling in the sunshine as I was watering yesterday.
It’s a medium sized shrub (50cm) in the pea family. It’s not ericacaeous and although it wants a reasonably sheltered a definitely sunny position it seems genuinely garden worthy.
The flowering period is prolonged. It flowers in the winter then sometime repeats later in the year. I think its rather good. The flowers also smell lovely and sweet which is probably not surprising for the pea family.

It can scramble round the base of larger shrubs like magnolias perhaps. Prune it after flowering to keep it neat. The RHS say hardy to -10 and well-drained soil.

Little pea family like yellow flowers and a wonderful fragrance, not lemon just fresh blossom. A challenge for the sweet pea. I do rather like this shrub and have one in a pot and one in my border.
