What Is In My Autumn Winter Hanging Basket

Autumn winter baskets can look gorgeous. They are hardy, less demanding to look after than summer baskets and create a wonderful punch of colour using largely foliage, consistently looking colourful all the time.

This Ferns has a interesting limey green textural element to add to a mixed basket and the viola's pop with colour.

Grasses also bring a contrasting texture and another soft shade of green.

Skimmia rubella is an evergreen with dark foliage and pretty red buds which open white but not until spring.

Heucherella Yellowstone Falls and ivy both trail. The yellow foliage marked with red and the variegated both add colour contrast.

Herbs such as purple sage and also many of the thymes are really good foliage to use in baskets and containers.

This is Heucherella Redstone Fall with the most wonderful rich rusty foliage.
